E-MAIL INFORMATION
Please read before you send me an e-mail: I spend over 100 hours per year gathering the information and updating this web site. I do this so people new to rescue can find the resources to help them do rescue. I can accomplish more by compiling this information than I ever could doing one-on-one phone calls or e-mails. There are hundreds of cat rescuers here in LA County, and many of us can and will give you the same information. My request is that you use my 'Rescue Guide' to find a group to walk you through the process of rescue.
Due to the time I spend on this site, I have a hard time justifying a response to those who find my e-mail location and disregard the above paragraph. This is not the purpose of my e-mail. I can not help everyone, but can give you the tools to find the help you need. After saying this, the following are areas that if you ask for help, I will not reply.
Giving up a cat: If you want to place your cat, go back to the pages on LA Humane Organizations and Options When Placing A Cat. You also may wish to read the months of Kitten Season, so you will understand that timing plays a big role in placing adult cats.
Foster help: Most placement groups without a shelter do adoptions at pet stores on the weekend. If you have a cat you want to place, you need to find a foster home and then book with a group. You or your foster home will be required to bring the cats in for the day until the cat is placed. This is a process that may take weeks or months until the the cat is placed. Your cat MUST be a cat who can be handled by strangers, should be current on vaccinations, be altered and have the nails trimmed. Each group will tell you if there are other requirements to show with their group. Some require a deposit for the day to insure you come back. If you are looking for help on placing a cat, go back to my Index page or LA Humane Organizations and find the pages and a group who will help you.
Contacting groups off my site for help: I purposely don't have links listed to any web sites for Los Angeles groups. Most groups have several volunteers answering their phone lines, and are set up to help people this way. Their webmasters don't all answer e-mails on a timely basis. If you are looking for help with feral cats, looking to rent feral traps, need help placing a cat, are looking for spay-neuter assistance, or want to adopt a cat, please call the groups directly. Most groups have phone lines with phone machines and will answer your call within 24 hours. If you want help from the humane organizations here in Los Angeles, go back to my Index page or LA Humane Organizations and find the correct page.
Find a cat in need?: Rescuers are up to our eyeballs in cats that need help. If you find a cat that needs help, please use my 'Resource Guide' as a source for information to solve whatever cat related situation you have. Call groups with the attitude that you are looking for help and know-how in 'how' to help solve a problem, not expecting them to solve your problems for you. Most groups will give you sound advise to get the cat the help he/she needs. The public doesn't always know what is available from the rescue community. Use us as the resources we are, and pull up your sleeves and jump into rescue. It is really rewarding to help a cat in need!

What kind of e-mails do I look forward to?: I look forward to e-mails from people who have found an omission, an error or a needed update in my information. This is how I keep my site up-to-date.
I also love to know what new products are out there, what new programs are being started, and general educational information from other cat people.
I also enjoy answering questions from people who are not in a city or country with as many humane organizations as we have here in Los Angeles.
